The iftar honored Dr. Judea Pearl (father of the late reporter Daniel Pearl) and Dr. Akbar S. Ahmad (Ibn Khaldun Chair of Islamic Studies at American University) for their collaboration to help advance Jewish-Muslim relations, turning hatred into hope.

Other inspiring leaders joining this special event include:
• Maya Soetoro-Ng (Conflict resolution expert and Barack Obama’s sister)
• Rabbi Simon Jacobson (founder of The Meaningful Life Center)
• Shelly Krajacic (National Education Association senior board member)
