Iftar In a Box!

This Ramadan, AMWEC is working to help those impacted by COVID-19 by delivering complimentary Iftar boxes to our elderly parents and grandparents, who are unable to cook or obtain a meal due to these difficult times. AMWEC board member Zeba Zebunissa in partnership with Little Dhaka and MD Roton was able to serve the most vulnerable of our community – our elders.

Justice Served! Daniel Pearl’s Killer Re-Arrested

What happens when justice isn’t served? It undermines the foundation of society. It is our duty as human beings to stand up for what is right. Daniel Pearl was a journalist who was brutally murdered by terrorists in Pakistan. His killers were released after strong-arming the local government, but thanks to the efforts of AMWEC’s president, Anila Alia, for reaching out to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, that decision was soon overturned. Justice will only be served if we take action and do what is right. The justice system in every country can be improved and it will only improve if we, the people, will stand up and speak up.
